Very nice fish and chips .........but at a price!!
£19.50 for large Cod and Chips as opposed to £14.50 down south in our neck of the woods.
Maybe prices are just dearer in Scotland.

Biggest waste of money fish was awful worst I've ever had. Don't mind paying that sort of money if good food. My advice try one of the others can't be worse that's for sure.

We thought we'd try Obans award winning fish and chip shop (sorry for the tomato ketchup)
Unfortunately we could not recommend, scallops overcooked, chips super greasy, cod was nice though. Glad we took the dog as the sausages we not pleasant.

Il cibo era davvero buonissimo! Patate belle spesse, merluzzo ottimo e abbiamo in più dei pesciolini sempre fritti davvero buoni. Purtroppo non era aperto il ristorante c’era solo take away ma era comunque ottimo. In più abbiamo preso ketchup e maionese e la loro famosa salsa maionese con aglio (ottima).

We decided to visit one of the top-rated fish and chips shops, based on all the glowing reviews and awards featured on their website, during our little vacation in the area. After driving 20 miles, we were disappointed to find it was a waste of money. The piece of fish was tiny with the smallest cut and heavily battered, and it came and greasy due to the thick batter. Chips were ok just your normal chips shop chips. I don’t mind paying premium prices for high-quality food, but this was far from it.

I've just found the best fish, chicken, chips and much more, ever in my life, I had a massive chicken and chips, I could not finnish it excellent pleasant service !! When in Oban, don't miss it !!

This has got to be THE best chippie I have come across in Scotland. When staying in Oban for 4 nights, myself and hubby were looking for a quick bite to eat, we came across this fantastic chippie by chance. We both had regular fish suppers on our first visit. Fresh fish, nice light crispy batter and the portion of chips that came with the supper was big enough to feed two people. Chips were tasty especially dipped in their own made tartare sauce. Our second visit was macaroni and cheese with chips. Oh my actual god, this is the best Mac n cheese (apart from my hubby’s ) I have tasted from a fast food shop. I can’t big this chippie up enough. If you’re partial to even a wee poke o’ chips, get yourself to this chippie - it is the business ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dont know what rick stein had. The fish and chips are over rated. Fish is soggy totally shocking. And the price for fish supper is daylight robbery. Give this place a wide berth. We think it was Frenkensteen who tried it. Never again. Soggy Fish
